Hunter Kay is a hunter/jumper young professional based in Aiken, South Carolina. At the end of 2020, Hunter relocated to Aiken to open Crossfields Farm, a training, showing and sales business.
Hunter grew up riding and showing since before he could remember. After a successful junior, and amateur career, where Hunter won at some of the top shows in the country, he has spent the majority of his professional career working for Danny Robertshaw and Ron Danta Beaver River Farm in Camden, SC before opening up his own operation.
With a background in both hunters and jumpers, Hunter has had a great deal of his success bringing along younger or less experienced horses up through the ranks of different divisions and going on to prepare them for a career with other riders. Hunter has won numerous hunter derbies and classics at shows throughout the southeast as well as many championships at large shows such as the Winter Equestrian Festival, Kentucky, Tryon, Aiken, and many more. Hunter has received top World Champion Hunter Rider Awards as a developing professional as well.
Besides, Hunter’s success as a rider he focuses on helping create success for individuals and horses he trains for others as well. Hunter has helped students and horses win in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings. Much of the success for both horses and riders, Hunter believes comes from keeping the horses happy and in top condition.
